Cappadocia
Cappadocia is a region in the middle of Turkey, about a 3 hour drive from Ankara. Its spectacular landscape, entirely sculpted by erosion, contains rock-hewn sanctuaries that provide unique Byzantine art, troglodyte villages and underground towns.
Around 150 hot air balloons take to the air from the Göreme valley every morning at sunrise, if conditions are conducive, and fly high above this extraordinary lunar landscape.
