Known as the “Russian Spitfire” due to her flying with the Soviet Air Force during WWII, Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX PT879 has been lovingly restored and took her first test flight in October 2020, taking to the air for the first time in 75 years.

PT879 is the first Soviet Lend-Lease Spitfire to fly since the late 1940s. There was just 18 hours or so on her clock as she was involved in a collision with another spitfire early on in her flying career, leaving her extensively damaged.
